Africa Asia Europe Latin America Middle East International Minor

The International Studies major comprises a total of 12 units, with a core curriculum consisting of Global Issues, International Economics, International Politics, and Senior Seminar in International Politics and Foreign Policy. Some degree of language proficiency is required. Courses should ordinarily be at the level of 300 or above and should provide an internally consistent program. You may choose to do a General International Studies major (see below), or concentrate on a Regional Studies (Europe, Latin America, Asia, Africa, or Middle East). *NOTE:  ECON 372, International Economics, has as pre-requisites ECON 110, ECON 251 (research methods), and ECON 252.  ECON 251 and ECON 252 have MATH 105, 260, or 360 as pre-requisites. By special arrangement with Dr. Rahman, ISP majors are not required to take ECON 252 (micro-economics) and  ECON 251, but for those going on to graduate studies, we strongly recommend you do take them, as they are required for entry to some graduate programs.  Dr. Rahman wil assist you as needed in ECON 372.
